Taking the first step can feel quite daunting and scary and this is perfectly understandable. Choosing the right therapist for you is important, so I would always recommend a 'no pressure' initial assessment session. This offers the opportunity to get a 'feel' of being comfortable with the therapist, and using the therapeutic space to talk through what is bringing you into therapy. From this you will be able to discuss the option of further sessions and planning these.

Counselling and Psychotherapy are terms that cover a range of talking therapies with a qualified therapist. My role includes being able to facilitate the listening and talking that takes place between us and building a trusting therapeutic relationship.
Therapy sessions offer an opportunity for you to be seen and heard, in a confidential and safe space, by someone who is unbiased, non-judgemental, empathic and objective.
Ultimately whether it be short or long term therapy, I aim to help you in bringing about effective change and enhancing your sense of wellbeing.
